Speedball - Fall 2025
Fastball St Albert is proud to introduce Speedball. Speedball is not your average fastball league, it is entirely focused on development and fun! The goal is to grow our athletes love of the game in a fast paced environment.
What is Speedball?
- Teams will be formed of five players. Games are played with three teams on the field at one time. One team plays Outfield, one team plays infield, and the third team is hitting.
- Once the team hitting has three outs, or they score five runs, they rotate to the Outfield, outfield rotates to infield, and infield rotates to hitting. Everyone is always in the game and we minimize the amount of waiting and watching.
- The games are entirely coach pitch which keeps the pace up. Teams will have to swing the bat and play defense.
- Teams will be balanced to relatively equal skill, a great opportunity for players from different divisions to get to know each other.
- Each team will have one to two coaches who will keep the athletes organized and promote fairness and fun.
When do we play?
o U11 - Wednesday nights starting August 13. There will be five league games and then a championship game on Wednesday, September 17th.
o U13 - Tuesday nights starting August 12. There will be five league games and then a championship game on Tuesday, September 16th.
- All games will start at 5:45pm (warm up first 15 minutes) and end at approx 7:30pm
- The first five games will be played with new teams set every week. An opportunity for all players to get to know each other. Further promoting fun over competition.
- For the Championship games, teams will be drafted by coaches in advance and allowed to have one practice in advance (if the coach so chooses).
- Show up for warmup and then play, there are no practices (with the exception of the above).
