Fastball St. Albert used to be known as St. Albert Softball. We changed our name in 2004 to reflect the style of pitch and the pace of the game. We offer organized fastpitch softball from U7-U19 age groups.
At the U7 division, players start with soft underhand pitches from the coach, and slowly work their way up to harder throws. As the ages increase the pitching becomes faster, up to 60 miles per hour at the oldest age groups.
The playing season is primarily May and June for the B/C programming, with evaluations starting January or February. The evaluations for the A Performance Program teams begins in September of the year prior to the season and their season generally runs April through July.
Development of skills is key, so players wanting to develop their skills are offered skills sessions and clinics during the winter months.
As with most non-profit associations, there are no paid positions on our board of directors. Every board member volunteers their time. We are always looking to add to the board of directors, or have people to help organize, so if you have a passion for the game, please consider joining the board, and help keep this great sport alive.
