FSA Camps and Clinics 2023-2024

FSA is pleased to offer clinics for Pitching, Catching, Hitting and overall Skills. We also offer pre-evaluation camps! All camps and clinics take place at the Angeldome training facility located at 12946 - 148 Street NW in Edmonton.

Winter Clinics (Bios for coaches below under the winter clinic listings)

Mondays January 8 to March 18, no class February 19 due to Family Day (10 weeks). If you are interested in joining a clinic after the start date that still has space available, please contact registrar@fastballstalbert.ca for a discount code so you can register for the clinic at a prorated amount for the remaining sessions.

You must bring your own catcher for all pitching clinics

5-6pm: Intro to Hitting for U9/U11 with Kelsey 

             U9/U11 Pitching with Camille - waitlist only

6-7pm: U11/U13 Hitting with Kelsey - waitlist only

             U11/U13 Pitching with Camille - waitlist only

7-8pm: U13/U15 Hitting with Kelsey - waitlist only

             U13/U15/U17 Intermediate Pitching with Camille - waitlist only

8-9pm: U15/U17 Hitting with Kelsey 

             U15/U17 Intermediate-Advanced Pitching with Camille - waitlist only

Tuesdays January 9 to March 12 (10 weeks):

5-6pm: Beginner Pitching U9/U11 with Kasey 

6-7pm: Pitching U9/11 with Kasey (front half of the dome)

             Beginner Catching with Kate (back half of the dome)

7-8pm: Pitching U13 with Kasey (front half of the dome)

             Intermediate Catching with Kate (back half of the dome)

Sundays January 7 to February 11(6 weeks):

12-1pm: U13/15 Pitching with Camille (front half of the dome) - waitlist only

               Pitching Lane (no instruction, just a lane to bring your own catcher and get in some practice in the back half of the dome)

About the Catching Coach:

Kate Hansen began playing softball when she was eight years old in Airdrie, AB. She attended the St. Joseph Softball Academy in Red Deer, AB the first year it opened in 2018 and continued her softball training at the academy throughout high school. She played on the Red Deer Rage A team winning provincial gold medals in her U16 and U19 years. She attended Canada Cup twice competing against the best teams around the world. She then attended Dakota College at Bottineau her first year of college in 2021 and transferred to NIACC her second year in 2022. 

About the Hitting Coach:

Kelsey Lalor grew up playing AAA Baseball in Alberta before making the switch to softball. She played college softball at Boise State University and was named a member of the All-Mountain West first team as a senior. After her college career, she played with Team Canada in 2022. She competed at the World Games in Alabama and the Pan American Qualifier in Guatemala. She also competed for the Canadian Women's National Baseball Team from 2013-2019. She played in 3 World Championships and the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.

About the Pitching Coaches:

Kasey McIntosh is currently a U17A player and has been working with younger Angels pitchers for the last 2 seasons. Last year she pitched on the Angels U15A White team who won provincials and placed in the top 10 at Nationals. 

Camille Czarnecki had numerous provincial wins as a minor player, participated in Westerns, Nationals and the Western Canadian Summer Games, received the All Star Pitcher Award at Nationals in 2011 and was the 2012 Fast Pitch Player of the year in Alberta. She went on to play at Iowa Western Community College, Stetson Div 1 school and Barry University and has numerous career highlights including multiple Women's Nationals Championship wins. Camille is Canpitch certified.

 

 

FALL CLINICS

Registration will open Sunday September 24 for the following clinics:

Pitching Clinics 

Mondays - October 16 to December 18, 2023 (10 weeks) - Pitchers MUST bring their own Catcher (parent, sibling etc) to each class - this is a requirement of all pitching clinics. Catchers are encouraged to wear a mask.

Learn to Pitch 5-6 pm - for U9/11/13 players who are interested in learning to pitch or those who are still working on basic pitching mechanics. This class will be taught by Kasey McIntosh in the back half of the dome. Cost: $200

Pitching 6-7 pm or 7-8 pm - open to U11/13/15 players who have been pitching for a minimum of one season and are working on refining mechanics and consistency. These classes will be taught by Kasey McIntosh in the back half of the dome. Cost: $200

Intermediate Pitching 7-8 pm - open to U13/15/17 players who have been pitching for a minimum 2 seasons, have been throwing with at least 60% consistency and are looking to work on hitting spots, additional pitches etc. This class will be taught by Camille Czarnecki in the front half of the dome. Cost: $275

Advanced Pitching 8-9 pm - open to U15/17 players who have been pitching for a few years, have more than 1 pitch and are looking to increase their velocity while continuing to master or develop additional pitches. This class will be taught by Camille Czarnecki in the front half of the dome. Cost: $275

Pitching lanes - No Instruction 8-9 pm - This is to rent a pitching lane for the 10 weeks and use the space for pitching practice. Lanes will be in the back half of the dome. Cost: $125

Intermediate Pitching 3-4 pm - open to U13/15/17 players who have been pitching for a minimum 2 seasons, have been throwing with at least 60% consistency and are looking to work on hitting spots, additional pitches etc. This class will be taught by Mackenzie Bender Cost: $275

About the Coach:

Mackenzie Bender is locally famous, check out this gazette article from her days as an Angel! Mackenzie has played in multiple national championships either with her team or as a pick up and received a national bronze medal as a U21 player. Her softball career continued into post-secondary where she played for Simon Fraser University competing in division 2 NCAA, GNAC Conference, and helped her team make it to the conference finals in her rookie season as a relief pitcher. After 2.5 years at Simon Fraser a major concussion brought her back to Edmonton where she finished her Kinesiology Degree at the University of Alberta. Her goal is to grow the number of strong pitchers coming out of Alberta and give them the opportunity to play in post-secondary.

Sunday mornings October 15, 2023 to February 11, 2024 - 16 weeks (no sessions Dec 24 or 31 due to the Christmas break)

U11 - 9-10:30 am, U13 - 10:30 am-12 pm Cost: $400

Coach Camille Czarnecki (bio above) will lead the skills camps and will have assistant coaches to help run everything. Players will engage in softball drills and activities to help them develop their fielding and batting skills. All players must wear a fielders mask.

U11 - 12-1:30 pm, led by FSA Coaches Blair Troock and Shawna Wasylyshyn Cost: $150

U13 - 1:30-3pm, led FSA Coaches Blair Troock and Justin Turner Cost: $150

Prepare for upcoming evaluations with FSA coaches who will help you dust the rust off your skills and run you through activities so you are ready and confident going into evaluations! All players must wear a fielders mask.
